NEWS

Paying for Meals to Resume on Monday, Jan. 9th

The Milford Foodservice Department has been honored to serve our school communities with wholesome, nutritious meals – at no charge – since the beginning of the pandemic. And they are ready to continue to serve everyone in our system.  Couple of things to know going forward.

We Will Return to ‘Meals for Purchase’ on Monday

While breakfast and lunch options will continue to be offered, students and staff will be expected to pay for those meals.  As we’ve mentioned many times over the past several weeks, there are a variety of ways for families to arrange payment:

Titan/My School Lunch: an online payment portal where families can deposit funds for their child/rens foodservice account.

Checks: Families may choose to submit a check (along with a deposit slip) that will be forwarded to the school cafeteria.

Free/Reduced Price Application: families who have completed, submitted, and have been approved for the F/R Price program will continue to receive either free or discounted meals. Keep in mind, thought, that it’s never too late to complete a Free/Reduced Price Application.  If you have not done so and would like to apply, please do so!

[Cash is not recommended].

Accounts That Have Zero Balances

We know it has been a long time since we’ve followed a Meals for Purchase operation and we recognize it will take a little time for everyone to get used to it again.  One of the things we want you to know is that NO CHILD will ever be denied a meal, nor shamed in any way, based on a negative school meal account.  The department will be in contact with families should a negative balance occur and have a conversation on how to resolve the situation.

If you have any questions about this or your child’s specific foodservice account, we ask you to please reach out to your school’s cafeteria manager.
