August 29, 2022
Dear Milford Public Schools Staff and Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back! I hope this letter finds you well rested and excited about our first day of school on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. In anticipation of our opening day, I am writing to provide some important information regarding our return to school. Certainly, the past few years have presented us with additional challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, while we continue to be mindful of COVID-19, we are happy to be moving forward as we enjoy our full slate of regular activities.
Thanks to our partnership with the Milford Health Department and the guidance we have received from the CT Department of Public Health (CT-DPH), CT State Department of Education (CSDE) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we are pleased to share Test-Mask-Go with you. The Test-Mask-Go protocols clearly outline the steps we all will need to take when a student or staff member is ill. The goal of Test-Mask-Go gives us the ability to maximize the amount of time our students and staff remain in school and minimize the amount of time individuals need to stay out of school.
Just as we did before the pandemic, students and staff who were ill have always been asked to remain home until they felt well enough to return. Please take a few moments to review the Test-Mask-Go protocols linked above; we also urge you to review the information in the Parent Student Handbook 2022-23 under Health & Well-Being.
We look forward to the start of the 2022-23 school year and seeing you all again.
Anna M. Cutaia, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
