This year, we will be opening our PowerSchool Parent Portal in 2 stages and it will be important that you to know what will be available and when. Here’s what you can expect:
Thursday, Aug. 18th: Preliminary Opening. Sometimes known as the ‘Sign-Off Sheet,’ families can enter their PowerSchool accounts beginning Thursday (8/18) and review/acknowledge all of the items we routinely require every year. Some of these items are the Parent-Student Handbook, Emergency Contact Info Update, the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), Foodservice documentation (such as the Free/Reduced Price Forms), Photo Release, and many other annual notifications.
Tuesday, Aug. 23rd: Classroom Teacher Assignments, Bus Routes Released. Now that all of your preliminary work has been completed (beginning Aug. 18th) it will make easy work for you to log on (on the 23rd) and find out your child’s classroom teacher assignment and his/her bus route (if eligible).
We believe this 2-stage portal opening will help mitigate the increased and substantial traffic that our system experiences when we open the Parent Portal for the first time in August. We believe you will find it easier to access your child’s information this year!
We have also added a new password retrieval link this year, if you have forgotten your password. This should solve the problem many families encounter as we prepare for the start of school.
If you have trouble accessing the Portal, please contact our BIDS team at (203) 783-3446.
