Our educators participated in a Literacy Professional Learning event hosted by Open-Up Resources presenting the district-adopted program, Bookworms. The primary focus of this event was to explore the concept of shared reading and emphasize the importance of providing grade-level access to all students, ensuring equitable learning opportunities and fostering literacy development. The adoption of this program further supports the district's compliance with Connecticut's "Right to Read" Act.
During the event, participants actively engaged in collaborative learning experiences and acquiring new strategies for implementing shared reading practices in their classrooms. The Bookworms curriculum served as a foundation for this learning, equipping educators with a comprehensive and effective approach to literacy instruction.
This event reflects our district's unwavering commitment to providing high-quality professional learning opportunities that support our educators in delivering exceptional literacy instruction and promoting the academic success of all students.
