The Board of Education will conduct its business meeting on Monday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Parsons Government Center. AGENDA, MEETING PACKET
The Oct. 14 Board of Education Meeting will include a Long Range Facilities Planning Workshop facilitated by Dr. Mary Broderick, a long-time consultant for educational institutions, and Dr. Jack Reynolds, a former superintendent of schools.
As shared previously, the Board of Education is engaging in a process to develop a Long Range Plan for the district’s facilities. On our website, you will find supporting materials that will aid in this work including the Facilities Utilization and Capacity Study, Enrollment Projections, the District Improvement Plans and the Facilities Conditions Study.
In preparation for Monday’s Workshop, the facilitators asked the Board to review the following documents: Average School Life Expectancy and Ideal School Size. Along with those two documents, the Board will align their thoughts with the Milford Public Schools Mission, Vision, Commitments, and Goals.
As part of the planning process, the Board wants to hear from the Milford community. They will create and send out a community survey in November to consider your feedback. We encourage you to visit the website frequently to stay informed and engage with us in the months ahead as the Board of Education participates in this important work.

Fourth- and fifth-graders at Pumpkin Delight participated in a corn shucking relay race. The corn came from a local farm and after the students shucked it, the food services team prepared it for lunch.
Aside from engaging in friendly competition, the students learned about the history of corn, and gained an appreciation for farm-to-table meals and the hard work that goes into food production.
