Revised 2023-24 Academic Calendar Released; Last Day is June 11th
We’ve been receiving lots of questions about the school calendar and “when is the last day of school?” We are happy to report, the academic calendar has been updated and reflects the 2 snow days we had earlier this year, and the addition of those 2 days to the end of the original calendar. Our last day of school will be Tuesday, June 11th. Here’s a fridge-worthy printable version for you. 2023-24 Calendar – Revised.
High School Graduation Dates Set; Middle School ‘Stepping Up’ Dates, Too!
All of the high school/middle school graduations/stepping up ceremonies have been set! Here’s the full list for these ceremonies (direct link to graphic).

Jay Rowe’s ‘Smooth Jazz for Scholars’ Benefit Concert
Tonight’s the night! The Jay Rowe ‘Smooth Jazz for Scholars’ benefit concert musicians have been filling the hallways at Parsons with some truly outstanding tunes. Don’t miss out on this world-class concert experience. In addition to the concert, make sure you visit the Raffle Basket table. All of the donated baskets come from our PTA/PTO school chapters and all of the funds from the raffle go to the MPS music department, as well. Saturday, 4/20: Earth Day Events Tomorrow
Celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 20th and enjoy the many activities that have been organized for the day. Simply visit the Milford Public Library and the Fowler Park area to enjoy hula hoops, mini-horses, forage for wild edibles, learn about Long Island Sound, visit the NOAA ‘touch a tank’ and more! Monday, 4/22: Board of Ed Meeting, Parsons, 7:00 p.m.
The Boad of Education will conduct its Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, 4/22 at Parsons, start time is 7:00 p.m. The topic of discussion will be the Family Engagement Report. Also on the agenda is the first look at four policy revision proposals: Drop Outs (P-5112.2), Homework (P-6154), Comparability of Services (P-6161.3), and Indoor Air Quality/HVAC (P-7230.2). Spring Food Resource Schedule Released; Lots of Community Support for Those in Need
Thanks to the huge support from our great community, and under the leadership of the Milford Health Dept., the Spring Food Resource Guide has been released. The schedule identifies the various meal providers and the days the meals are offered. Please take a look at the Spring Schedule – and share it with people you may know who are in need. FLYER.
Beginning Monday, 4/22: Milford’s 2024 Bulk Trash Pickup Schedule – Time to do a little spring cleaning!
The City of Milford has released the Spring 2024 Bulk Trash Pickup Schedule. Here’s your chance to reclaim some of that space in your attic or basement or garage!! Please keep in mind there are some restrictions to how/what you can place at the curb. To read all the details, click HERE. In the meantime, here’s the schedule so you can begin planning:
If your normal Garbage Day is Monday: then your Bulk Pickup will BEGIN on Monday, April 22
If your normal Garbage Day is Tuesday: then your Bulk Pickup will BEGIN on Monday, April 29
If your normal Garbage Day is Thursday: then your Bulk Pickup will BEGIN on Monday, May 6
If your normal Garbage Day is Friday: then your Bulk Pickup will BEGIN on Monday, May 13

Get ready, folks! Here’s your chance to view the stars in the Foran High Planetarium and support the Milford Education Foundation in their fundraising efforts. The Milford Education Foundation has been a wonderful partner to the Milford Public Schools, raising funds through events to provide a variety of programs for us. Let’s return the favor by taking in a Yankee’s Game on Sunday, 5/5 (1:30 start) against the Detroit Tigers – Tickets are $78 and include your seat (in section 306), a Yankees backpack, and a $20 Meal Voucher. DOWN THE ROAD: Tuesday, May 21: Blast Off to Summer Reading
Mark your calendars! In order to prepare our elementary students for their Summer Reading efforts, the Milford Public Schools and the Milford Public Library are teaming up to present ‘Blast Off to Summer Reading!’ The event will be held at the Library, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., and include games, literacy activities, summer reading program info, and other fun times! SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, 6/8: Dash for Danni, See flyer for details
The Annual Dash for Danni Road Race is slated for Saturday, June 8th. The proceeds from this race help fund the Danni Kemp Foundation, in honor of Foran High School’s star athlete, Danni Kemp, who sadly passed away from a rare form of brain cancer. We’ll remind you as we get closer. Please plan on attending this wonderful tribute fundraiser. FLYER.
