NEWS & EVENTS
Tonight: Friday, June 2: Wizard of Oz, West Shore Middle School Gymnasium, 7:00 p.m.
Tonight’s your last chance to ‘follow the yellow brick road’ to West Shore Middle School. Last show begins at 7:00 p.m. Tix: $10 for adults, $5 for students/senior citizens. Break a leg, Wildcats! FLYER.
Sunday, June 4th: the MPS Middle School GREAT BOAT RACE, Milford Harbor (near Scoopy Doos). Launch time about 12:30 p.m.
The day is almost here! As you will recall, students in our middle schools have been hard at work creating boats using plastic water bottles. The goal was to see how our kids would employ the talents they’ve learned in their STEM coursework to create seaworthy vessels that would seat 2 teachers from each school – who are tasked to row along a charted path and win the race! As of this release, we have learned the East Shore boat will be commandeered by Kerrie Astrosky and Chloe Hudd; Harborside will have Colleen Cannariato as the captain; and West Shore will be muscled by Glenn Maxwell and Ari Crooks. Dr. Anna Cutaia is expected to start the race and enrichment teacher Tom Stack will proctor the race with the Milford Harbormaster. Will the boats float? And which team will plow through Milford Harbor to victory? Bring your cameras, folks. This one is sure to be terrific. Boat Race Commercial.
