The Ready to Learn Preschool Program, offered in conjunction with the Milford Public Schools, is now accepting pre - enrollment applications for Fall 2025.
Eligibility
The Ready to Learn program is, in part, funded by a CT School Readiness grant for preschoolers who are not yet eligible for Kindergarten. In accordance with the Ready to Learn grant requirements, children must attend the preschool program for six hours or more daily (including summer) for the entire year. A percentage of RTL seats are made available to families according to financial need and are based on a formula provided by the State of Connecticut Early Childhood Department, and have parents who are employed or currently seeking employment.
Costs
The fees associated with the cost of annual tuition are based on the information listed on the IRS 1040 form submitted at the time of completing the pre-enrollment application and in accordance with the sliding scale fee schedule provided by the state Office of Early Childhood Education.

The State of Connecticut Readiness Program is administered by the Office of Early Childhood. The Connecticut Office of Early Childhood was established in 2013 to coordinate and improve the various early childhood programs and components in the state to create a cohesive high-quality early childhood system. The OEC is organized into four divisions: Early Care and Education, Licensing, Early Intervention, and Family Support Services. The Milford School Readiness/Ready to Learn program receives funding from the state in order to move these initiatives forward. Fees are also charged to participating families to help supplement the costs of operating the program.
