Dear WSMS Families,
We had an exciting week here at West Shore! Mr. Crooks and his 6th graders were featured on WTNH, channel 8 News, “What’s Right With Schools.” If you are interested in seeing the segment please click here.
Our own Janelle Dimaya won the district wide Spelling Bee. We are very proud of her! To celebrate she chose the music for our dance out of school today.
Please read the flyer on our spring arts season, click here.
I want to make you aware of an important Parent University event the district has coming up after break on April 27th at Foran High School.
Dr. Alicia Farrell will be presenting on Teenage Mental Health. This is always an important topic, but even more so on the heels of the pandemic.
Health providers across the country have noted the increased mental health challenges for our children due to the effects of the pandemic.
Come to Foran and get a professional's insight into your teenager's mental health, and learn what you can do to support them!
The district is offering a pasta dinner free of charge before the presentation.
Please note this event is intended for parents/guardians, and not for children.
Please click Flier for more details and to register for the event click “RSVP Here by Monday 4/25” at the bottom of the flier if you plan to attend.
Finally, I am pleased to announce the 2022
Teacher of the Year - Ari Crooks
Paraprofessional of the Year - Melody Kelleher
Parent of the Year - Tina Pritchard
We feel strongly that these people are great examples of why West is Best!!
Have a great spring break!
