Good Afternoon,
Winter has finally arrived! It was so nice to see some snow last week. As you know, the COVID positivity rate has been very high and we are continuing to be vigilant about following safety protocols. We have a long weekend for the MLK holiday ahead so hopefully this spike will begin to decline.
Through all of this our staff continues to provide our students with rigorous and engaging learning activities. Here we have some 6th graders doing stations in math class. An 8th grader is creating a unique print during art and one of our Wingmen is leading an advisory lesson in her homeroom. Our staff and students have proven to be so resilient during this difficult time.
As stated in last week’s communication we have been distributing 3 ply masks to any student who would like them (3 per student). We have also been offering rapid test kits to families with symptomatic or close contact children. Our protocol for distributing tests is below:
Once approved, a scheduled timeframe to pick up your test kit will be provided to you and you will pick it up at the greeter station.
Please DO NOT send symptomatic individuals to the school to pick up the test kit.
The person who is picking up the kit must show a photo ID to the Greeter before receiving the kit.
Parents/guardians must report the results of the self-test to the school nurse.
Only one kit will be distributed per student.
Have a good weekend,
Carrie Keramis
