Parent Weekly 1/7/22

1-7-22

Good Afternoon,

We were so happy to welcome the students back after the holiday break! As you know, we have a number of our school community who are out with COVID or quarantining as close contacts. Please know that we are being vigilant with our mitigation measures.

Following Dr. Cutaia’s letter sent out on January 5, below is the process for issuing test kits for our middle school students. Nurse Levin will determine if a student case warrants the distribution of a test kit. Students with symptoms and or a direct exposure will be prioritized. Test kits will not be administered to students at school. Parents will administer the tests at home.

As per Dr. Cutaia’s letter, kits are to be prioritized to symptomatic students with a known direct exposure to an index case. These tests are not to be used on adults/family members of the school-aged child.

  • Once approved, a scheduled timeframe to pick up your test kit will be provided to you and you will pick it up at the greeter station.

  • Please DO NOT send symptomatic individuals to the school to pick up the test kit.

  • The person who is picking up the kit must show a photo ID to the Greeter before receiving the kit.

  • Parents/guardians must report the results of the self-test to the school nurse.

  • Only one kit will be distributed per student.

In our collective efforts to keep our schools open and operating for all students, the most important thing you can do is to keep your student(s) home if they are experiencing any of the key symptoms of COVID-19.

Student 3-ply masks are available at the Greeter Station for any student who would like one.

Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our schools safe and healthy.

Have a good weekend and enjoy the snow!

Sincerely,

Carrie Keramis
