Dear West Shore Families,

The holiday season is here, and winter break is upon us! We want to thank you for your continued support as we work together to ensure our West Shore students remain engaged and inspired throughout the year. We wish you a joyous holiday season and look forward to seeing everyone in 2024!

Hour of Code - December 16th - December 20th
This week, our West Shore students participated in the global “Hour of Code” initiative during Media Center classes with Mrs. Lisa Vaccino. This program introduces students to the basics of computer science through fun, hands-on coding activities. It’s designed to show that anyone can learn to code and to spark an interest in the field of technology. 

French Guest Speaker - December 18th
Students in Mme. Dandane’s French classes had a special treat on Wednesday! Mme. Dandane welcomed Fadya Chihi, an urban engineer from Paris, as a guest speaker. Students were captivated by the opportunity to learn about French culture from a native speaker and actively participated in the discussions.

Law Music Tour - December 19th
On Thursday, students from Jonathan Law High School brought the holiday spirit to West Shore Middle School! Their musical performances were a wonderful way to spread joy before winter break and also encouraged our middle school students to explore future musical opportunities. We appreciate their visit and look forward to seeing our students follow in their footsteps!

Bulletin Board Extravaganza - December 2024
West Shore teachers and students showed off their creative sides this month during our festive bulletin board competition, organized by Mr.Faughnan. The designs were imaginative and truly embraced the holiday spirit. 

Student Advisory - Jingle Mingle - December 20th
What better way to wrap up the week than with a school-wide “Jingle Mingle”? Students have been eagerly anticipating this event, which includes fun activities and a festive sing-along to close out the week.
