Dear West Shore Middle School Families,
We had a busy week here at WSMS! Our student clubs and activities had their pictures taken for the yearbook. On Wednesday afternoon our staff continued their Professional Learning around High Quality Instruction. This time they visited classrooms to get a glimpse of how teachers are creating opportunities for students to Make Their Thinking Visible. The classroom visits were followed by a quick student and teacher debrief. Thanks to those families that allowed their students to participate in this learning experience for our staff.
Wednesday evening our fabulous PTA hosted a paint night on Wednesday the 24th, and our very own Megan Laudenslager was the directing artist. It was a great night and fun was had by all who attended.
Today some of our West Shore students used their Wild Cat Cash for the first “Fun Friday” activity. Students who won the raffle spent time with Officer Clark in the exercise room. She had a fun and engaging workout planned for them.
Q2 ended this week and report cards will be ready for families to view on Tuesday, February 6.
Lights, Camera, Action! The Student Council is running a school dance tonight from 7:00 to 9:00. They have done an amazing job organizing this fun event! I can’t wait to see all of the red carpet looks tonight!
The WAVE program will be starting on February 5th!

8th Grade Committee:
Krispy Kreme Fundraiser: Pre-order a dozen Krispy Kreme Donuts by 2/5. Each dozen is $15. Pickup is on 2/13 from 4:30-6:30. For more information click here. Orders can be placed here. Proceeds benefit the 8th grade committee.

Estimadas familias de la escuela secundaria West Shore:
¡Tuvimos una semana ocupada aquí en WSMS! Nuestros clubes y actividades estudiantiles se tomaron fotografías para el anuario. El miércoles por la tarde, nuestro personal continuó su aprendizaje profesional en torno a una instrucción de alta calidad. Esta vez visitaron las aulas para echar un vistazo a cómo los profesores están creando oportunidades para que los estudiantes hagan visible su pensamiento. Las visitas a los salones de clases fueron seguidas por un breve informe para estudiantes y maestros. Gracias a aquellas familias que permitieron que sus estudiantes participaran en esta experiencia de aprendizaje para nuestro personal.
El miércoles por la noche, nuestra fabulosa PTA organizó una noche de pintura el miércoles 24, y nuestra propia Megan Laudenslager fue la artista directora. Fue una gran noche y todos los asistentes se divirtieron.
Hoy, algunos de nuestros estudiantes de West Shore usaron su Wild Cat Cash para la primera actividad del “Viernes divertido”. Los estudiantes que ganaron la rifa pasaron tiempo con el oficial Clark en el salón de ejercicios. Ella tenía planeado un entrenamiento divertido y atractivo para ellos.
El segundo trimestre terminó esta semana y las boletas de calificaciones estarán listas para que las familias las vean el martes 6 de febrero.
¡Luces, CAMARA, ACCION! El Consejo Estudiantil organizará un baile escolar esta noche de 7:00 a 9:00. ¡Han hecho un trabajo increíble organizando este divertido evento! ¡No puedo esperar a ver todos los looks de la alfombra roja esta noche!
¡El programa WAVE comenzará el 5 de febrero!
