Dear West Shore Families-
Wow! It is the last full week of school! It really has been an amazing year!
First and foremost, a BIG congratulations goes out to Mr. Crooks, Mr. Maxwell and our WSMS Enrichment students led by Mr. Stack for winning the “Recycled Bottle Boat Challenge.” These two gentlemen utilized the boat created for them by our West Shore Enrichment Students in a regatta that took place in Milford Harbor last Sunday. Mr. Crooks and Mr. Maxwell arrived at the event dressed for success and motivated to bring the trophy to West Shore.
Then on Monday our sixth graders traveled to the Adventure Park in Bridgeport. Students weaved through the ropes course and took on the challenge of ziplining through the five acres on the trail. They were so proud of their accomplishments and bragged about their exploits in the forest with their sixth grade friends. Wednesday brought the eighth grade trip to Holiday Hill! Our eighth grade students went swimming, canoeing, fishing, and ate sooo much food while having fun with friends at the picnic grounds in Prospect, Connecticut. We appreciate the contribution of our Eighth Grade Committee made to support this event.
Today our 7th graders enjoyed their field day activities outside. We are super lucky that the air quality conditions have improved so they did not have to bring it inside.
Finally, the stepping up ceremony is tonight! The ceremony starts at 5:00pm.at Jonathan Law High School. I sent a separate email to families this week with all the details. We look forward to wishing our eighth graders a fond farewell as they move on to high school.
Enjoy the weekend!
