Dear West Shore Families-
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! It was nice to see everyone dressed in green and spreading that St. Patrick’s Day Spirit around our school.
After I hit send on our last newsletter, I noticed the Milford Police Department outside visiting with some of our students. Specifically, the K-9 Unit was here to help some of our sixth grade students connect their non-fiction reading to a real life experience. Thank you to Mrs. Aliberti and Mrs. Morse for giving students the opportunity to learn in a different way on a Friday afternoon.
On Tuesday of this week, we continued to celebrate “Music in Our Schools Month.” Our West Shore Musicians joined Harborside and Law Musicians to showcase their talents to a packed house at Foran High School. I am so impressed by these students, and thankful for the incredible opportunities our music teachers organize for them. Thank You!
On Thursday, our Eighth Grade students visited Jonathan Law High School. They met with administration, teachers, and students. Then they toured the school to get a glimpse of all the electives available to them as freshmen. Thank you to all that helped organize that meaningful visit. Thursday was also our Skate Night and we had a great turn out. Thanks to our PTA for sponsoring this event
A shout out also goes out to Lisa Vaccino in the Media Center. She has done a tremendous job getting students interested in reading at our school. Most recently, she shared a bracket system in which students could vote for their favorite book titles. We made it to the Final Four in our March Madness Book Edition, so make sure you vote for your favorite titles. The winner will be chosen soon!
We are hoping for a big turn out for the Staff vs. Student Basketball game next week. The information is below.
Please note that students cannot ride another bus home with a friend. The bus company does not allow this even with a written note.

Don’t forget that West Shore “Spirit Wear” is here. Orders can be placed online here on or before Monday, March 20th. If you have any questions, please reach out to Deb Grillo or Ashley Bua. All orders will be delivered to WSMS around April 20th.
