OHS Highlights
We love our PreK classes!!
The preschool students in Ms. Bettencourt and Ms. LoVerme’s classes are having fun with activities to increase their self-help, social and motor skills! Learning to put coats on and zipper, sharing stories and experiences with their friends and moving their bodies through dancing and obstacle courses are ways we are stretching our bodies and minds. Over the past few weeks, children have discussed things/people that we are thankful for, and holidays that we celebrate in December. We continue to use play to learn about language, math and the world around us. PreK classes are busy places every minute of the day!
You can help your child at home by giving them daily opportunities to put on their coats, engage & zip their zippers and independently open snack packaging. Children show such pride when they are able to manage day to day tasks such as this! To get your child talking about their day try asking specific questions such as;
What was the question of the day today?
What center did you choose today?
Did your teacher read a story?
What did you have for snack?
