Dear OHS Eagles,

We have many exciting upcoming events so be sure to check them out!

Bubble Mania's Casey Carle delighted students with his performance! Thank you to our PTA for sponsoring this fun filled event! Students had a blast!

It's Energy Awareness Month: This fun and easy project invites students to measure the difference in energy usage between an LED bulb and an incandescent bulb. All materials needed to participate in the UI Home Energy Challenge are included in the kit provided by UI.  Click on the link if you are interested.  https://homeenergychallengeui.com

Socktober Fundraiser-  OHS SOCKTOBER!.png

This October, Orchard Hills School is teaming up with Horizons at Foote for Socktober! We’re collecting socks that will be donated directly to students in need at Horizons at Foote. A simple pair of socks can provide warmth and comfort as the colder months approach. Together, we can make a real impact, help make a difference, one pair of socks at a time, and ensure every student steps into the season with warmth!  All new sock donations can be placed in the box in the main lobby.  Mr. Cala will bring the donations to Horizons at the end of the month.

Thanks for the support and help!

Here’s a fun video from Kid President about Socktober: Hello Internet! It's #SOCKTOBER! Love, Kid President

K9 Winston  visited some of our classrooms this week!  We are very fortunate to be collaborating with Officer Jimmy Cox and K9 Winston. We look forward to future visits!

PTA Events:

Exciting News!!! After much discussion and collaboration between the PTA, OHS administration, and the Fun Run committee, we have created a plan that allows “spectators” to watch their children at the Fun Run. We are so happy to open up this opportunity to all parents or guardians. That said, we also need to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff.

You must sign up in order to attend. If you have already signed up as a volunteer, you do not need to sign up again. The spectator signups will be by grade (40 minute slots). When you arrive, please check in to receive your spectator badge. The designated area for spectators will be behind the fence at the end of the parking lot. Please stay in the designated area. We have plenty of volunteers helping and it would be very chaotic to have everyone on the baseball field. We ask that you please vacate the designated area once your child's grade is done running to make room for the next group of spectators. If you have more than one child running, you may sign up for multiple grades. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

We look forward to seeing you there!
