Dear OHS Families, 

Crazy Hat Day was a huge success thanks to our Student Leadership Team!  We raised $522.00 toward Toys for Tots.  We are thankful for all of the toys that were donated as well.

PTA NEWS

  • The PTA is looking for a volunteer to chair the Pantochino program this year.  The program will start on January 18th and meet on Thursdays from 3:30- 4:55pm. Please reach out to Vicki Pillo at vitti618@gmail.com or 203-804-3090 if interested!

  • For drama chair this year, they will arrive at ~3:15, take attendance, and then support the Pantochino staff (example, if a student needs to go to the bathroom while they are there), and then at 4:45 handle dismissal of the kids to the parent or the afterschool programs. All other things, Lori Seluga will support you for the actual show: tickets, programs, and costumes.

Milford Health Department Program

The Milford Health Department is asking families to complete a survey regarding an Oral Health Services program in the elementary schools to provide access to oral health screenings and cleanings for children K-5.  Please complete this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PVS7CDW

Kindergarten Registration- The December assessment appointment window is closed for those families that have requested a waiver for their child to enter into Kindergarten for the 2024 - 2025 school year.  If you requested a waiver, but did not have the opportunity to schedule a December appointment, you will receive a communication in the near future to make an appointment for the next Kindergarten Waiver assessment. The online Kindergarten registration will remain open, if you  have not had the opportunity to register, please do so.

  • With the winter and holidays around the corner, please let us know if you are in need of:

  • winter coats, gloves, hats, boots etc 

  • holiday gifts for your children

OHS PTA Information

Join us for a crafty and festive afterschool art session this holiday season with our PTA sponsored Giggling Pig Holiday Workshop! Your child/children will experience  3-weeks of afterschool art crafting sessions beginning December 6 (**Special Time 12/6 due to scheduled early dismissal 1:30-2:30pm.**)  The December 13th and 20th dates will remain at the regular scheduled after school time 3:30-4:30pm. Your child/children will have the perfect opportunity  to make a one-of-a-kind sentimental gift that they create and make for you themselves!! Check out the OHS PTA's first fundraiser of the year!  Photography by Elizabeth Marie is partnering with the OHS PTA to offer photography sessions to benefit the OHS PTA!  To schedule a session, click here!  

PTA School Store- The school store will be open on most Wednesdays from 8:20-8:40am.  Here is a flier with details.  Most items are between .25 cents and $5.00 with the exception of the eagle squishmellows at $11.00. 

5th Grade Families- Attention 5th Grade OHS Families!  Activities for our 5th graders are in full swing.  If you would like to join the OHS PTA 5th Grade Committee and help out, email Rebecca at rebeccaacohen@yahoo.com.

Community Connection Center  This week's CCC News contains information and links for a mix of resources & fun seasonal activities.  Among the community services you will find links for the CT FoodShare  Mobile Pantry, Winter preparedness and CT's  warming centers. Enjoy a free  "Milford Holiday Concert", by the Miford Concert Band, The YMCA's "Cookies with Claus" or Therapy Minis, Piglet's Playdate  with Santa's Reindeer.
