Exciting STEM News-  We have an Aeroponic Tower Garden!  OHS was lucky enough to work with Sue Lambiase, Tower Garden Distributor and Devon Rotary Board Member who was able to secure a donated Tower Garden from Sue O’Shea and Renee Garelick (owner of Moda Hair Studio) for School use. If you would like to know more about it please visit

https://susanlambiase.towergarden.com/school-gardens  The tower garden will be used by students in the lab to grow vegetables, lettuce to start.  We are excited to see the crops and teach the students how to harvest and eat healthy.  We are also looking forward to involving parents and the community in our efforts to raise funds for future supplies.

A big shout out to the OHS PTA for funding some of the supplies needed to get the tower garden up and running.  We would also like to thank the Devon Rotary Club for funding the grow light kit that will allow us the tower to grow indoors all year long.

OHS Spirit Days-  Please see the document for the OHS Spirit Days.  This is a working document, so please check back as some dates may change or be added.

Birthdays/Celebrations- At the elementary level, we do not use food as a part of our class celebrations (birthdays, holidays, end of year parties).  Please do not send or bring in food or candy to your children's classroom for parties or other reasons.  For birthdays or other special events, we invite family members in to read a book or do a craft with students as part of the celebration.  Please coordinate any visits with the classroom teacher well in advance.

Minute Meetings- We are excited to start Minute Meetings with all of our 4th and 5th graders this year.  Minute meetings are brief, face-to-face conversations that our school counselor will have with each 4th and 5th grader in October and January. The purpose is to get to know our students better so we can best service their needs, and to make sure all of our students are connected in school and have someone to go to if they need support.  School counselors get to know each child by asking them a few simple questions about their friends, what adult they go to if they need help, their challenges, and their interests.  Please contact our school counselor if you have any questions about Minute Meetings.
