The Week of the Young Child in PreK!!!

Pre-K has been keeping busy and having lots of fun during this Week of the Young Child!

On Musical Monday our 3 year old class made bell bracelets and the 4 year olds made tambourines! The 4 year olds had a blast parading around the classroom once their instruments were finished!

For Tasty Tuesday we read Green Eggs and Ham.  The 3 year olds made green egg art.  The 4 year olds made a list of foods they were considering trying as well as a list of strategies for trying new foods! Both classes were given homework - try a new food and have their grown up email a photo to Mrs. L.  So many new foods were tried!  Some were yummy and some were not but at least we tried!

Work Together Wednesday was quite an adventure for both the 3 and 4 year old classes.  The threes listened to and participated in reading Mix It Up  by Herve' Tullet then worked together to mix 2 colors to create a 3rd color. The 4 year old class worked together to send a hula hoop around a circle while holding hands.  We followed up that challenge with a quick chat about how teamwork can make a job easier.  Next we read The Three Billy Goats Gruff and used materials from around the classroom to build bridges for our own billy goats!

We're looking forward to painting our scribble stones on Artsy Thursday and I hope to see some around town in the near future!
