Facilities Condition Study

• What is the Facilities Condition Index?

  • It is a metric that provides the relative health of a building. It is determined by dividing the total cost of needed repairs and updates by the replacement cost of

    the facility. The index a

    llows you to compare the condition of a much larger school and a smaller school.

• What items were considered when determining the building needs?

  • MPS administrators discussed the programmatic needs and facility priorities with Bureau Veritas, the firm who conducted this study, in alignment with district goals. The firm surveyed all 14 of our buildings and analyzed areas of the facilities such as the structure, interiors, fire protection, and HVAC.

• What are the school construction state reimbursement rates?

  • It is 37.86% for renovations and 27.86% for a new build.
