Good Afternoon Meadowside, 

Thank you to PTA for a great week. We feel so appreciated and completely spoiled.  From the luggage tags to the tea and cookies, from the snack bags to the pizza truck and yogurt bar -- Wow what a fun trip across the week!  Thank you so much too to our community sponsors  who partnered with PTA: Silver Sands Pizza, the Greek Spot, Touch Nutrition and Icing on the Cake! And thank you to all our parents who donated through Amazon and helped write so many beautiful notes of appreciation as well as to our Meadowside Girl Scouts who gifted cookies to every single staff member!

News from the PTA: 

  • Math Night with Mathnasium:  Save the date, May 13th from 6-7:30 at Meadowside.  Come join us for an evening of family math games.  We need volunteers to help out that evening.  In addition to parent volunteers we would love it if middle school or high school siblings could help.  Please sign up here.

  • Scholastic Book Fair - In school on May 23rd, students will be able to shop with their class.  On May 24th families will be able to shop at the fair from 3:30- 6:30.  Click here for more information.

  • Silver Sands Pizza Fundraiser:  On Wednesday, May 18th take a night off from cooking and help support the fifth grade committee. Use code - Meadowside when ordering and 10% of sales will be donated to us!

  • PTA Meeting - Last PTA meeting of the year is Tuesday, May 10th at 6:15 in the Media Center.  Join us for elections, to vote on next year's budget, and to plan our end of year events.

  • Teacher Appreciation Week:  Thank you to all of the families who helped their kids write notes, decorated HEART signs, and ordered something off of our wish list.  A special thanks to The Greek Spot, Silver Sands Pizza, Touchdown Nutrition, and our Girl Scout troop for all of their donations this week.  We LOVE our Meadowside staff and appreciate everyone’s help this week!

 Transition to Middle School Information for our Fifth Grade Families: On April 25 a letter was sent to each Grade 5 family listing the district assigned Middle School for the 22-23 school year along with information on the  May 19, 2022 middle school visit day. West Shore Middle School is also hosting a Virtual Transition Night for families on Thursday, May 26th from 6:30 to 7:15. In this week's CCC Newsletter you will find information about the MPS Parent University & the Milford CCC Family Music Night taking place on May10th titled, Shake , Rattle & Roll! Click here to register.  May is "Mental Health Awareness Month" & CT Connecting to Care has a calendar full of ways to keep us positive!  Our CCC has the link to this helpful calendar.  You'll  also find  a link to a new program for heating & water assistance from the State of Connecticut.  Don't forget this Sunday is Mother's Day!

Reminders

  • Grade 5 Families - If you haven't signed up for your child’s middle school music for next year - please do so now.  Please take a moment to review this document with your child about making a selection for 6th grade music.  Be on the lookout for more information later in the spring on our fifth graders upcoming transition into middle school.   

  • For our incoming Kindergarten families who are fully registered or currently in a MPS preschool program, be on the lookout for an email on our Kickoff to Kindergarten school visits in May.  If your child is eligible for Kindergarten but you have not yet registered, please click the link  to register and be included in this Kickoff to Kindergarten experience.
