Good Afternoon Meadowside Families,

We are thrilled to congratulate some very special members of our learning community!  Mrs. Gambardella, our ParaEducator of the Year, Mrs. Krauss our Parent of the Year, and Mr Cavagnuolo - or Mr. C as our students call him - our Teacher of the Year.  We are so grateful for their contributions to our learning community!  

 

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our PTA and our Families for their contributions to our Welcome Signs.  They are a wonderful celebration of the diversity of our learning community and such a warm welcome to our school!

News from the PTA: 

  • Teacher Appreciation Week - We are so excited to celebrate the AMAZING Meadowside staff during Teacher Appreciation Week next week.  Here is more information about what PTA has planned for the week.

  • Spring Plant Sale - May 6th students will be able to shop with their class.  Lots of plants to choose from, prices range from $1 - $5.  We encourage parents to send their child with a shoe box to make bringing the plants home a little easier.  Hanging Basket pre-orders can be made through April 25th on memberhub.  Check out our flyer for more information.  We need volunteers to help, sign up here to volunteer.

  • Square 1 Art orders are due TODAY, April 29th.  If you have misplaced your artist’s catalog you can find their art here.

  • Math Night with Mathnasium:  Save the date, May 13th from 6-7:30 at Meadowside.  Come join us for an evening of family math games.  We need volunteers to help out that evening.  In addition to parent volunteers we would love it if middle school or high school siblings could help.  Please sign up here.

Transition to Middle School Information for our Fifth Grade Families: On April 25 a letter was sent to each Grade 5 family listing the district assigned Middle School for the 22-23 school year along with information on the  May 19, 2022 middle school visit day. West Shore Middle School is also hosting a Virtual Transition Night for families on Thursday, May 26th from 6:30 to 7:15. In this week's CCC Newsletter you will find information about the MPS Parent University & the Milford CCC  Family Music Night taking place on May 10th titled, Shake , Rattle & Roll! Click here to register. See how to contact The Milford Family Resource Center &  register for their playgroups that will take place over the summer.  Want to learn about sheep? Reminders

  • Grade 5 Families - If you haven't signed up for your child’s middle school music for next year - please do so now.  Please take a moment to review this document with your child about making a selection for 6th grade music.  Be on the lookout for more information later in the spring on our fifth graders upcoming transition into middle school. 

  • Our Elementary School Counselors are hard at work implementing the final SEL Lessons (social emotional learning lessons.) Each lesson falls into a category of social, emotional, academic or career. The final lesson for K-5 is all about careers!  Click HERE for the letter from our school Counselor Ms. Brittany Smith including how you can help us contribute to our upcoming Career Day.  

  • For our incoming Kindergarten families who are fully registered or currently in a MPS preschool program, be on the lookout for an email on our Kickoff to Kindergarten school visits in May.  If your child is eligible for Kindergarten but you have not yet registered, please click the link  to register and be included in this Kickoff to Kindergarten experience.
