Good Afternoon Meadowside Families,

This week we wanted to take a moment to highlight the incredible work going on in our STEM lab!  All our second graders had the opportunity to visit for a Coding and Engineering Challenge that took place over multiple days.  The students utilized Finches and Chromebooks to collaboratively “coded their way” from Milford to Lake Compounce, plotted a path to their favorite rides and then designed and built a new ride to introduce to the park.  They took to their Finches like pros -- and the engagement and creativity they showed throughout their visits was so exciting to see!  What is a Finch?  A finch is a small robot designed to engage students in computational thinking and computer science - and we are so fortunate to have Mrs. Guarino introduce Finches to us in the STEM lab!  Check our photos from the week here.

Our Elementary School Counselors are hard at work implementing the final SEL Lessons (social emotional learning lessons.) Each lesson falls into a category of social, emotional, academic or career. The final lesson for K-5 is all about careers!  Click HERE for the letter from our school Counselor Ms. Brittany Smith including how you can help us contribute to our upcoming Career Day.
