Good Afternoon Meadowside Families,

Fire Drill: Earlier today, Meadowside School  conducted a fire drill. This was only a drill and was in accordance with the School Incident Management Protocols established by the district.  I am pleased to report that the drill was a success. It was efficient and timely. I want to thank our students and staff for taking this drill seriously and following the practices put in place to keep everyone safe.

HEART Assembly: Monday, we held our RESPECT Heart Assembly.  Highlights of our assembly included our K-1 cheer team, second grade presentation and third grade song!

Next week our district will be celebrating the Week of the Young Child with our PreK and Kindergarten Students.  Join in at home with family activities throughout the week.

District Summer School Enrichment Letter: The Milford Public Schools is excited to offer a summer enrichment experience for elementary school learners. Please click here to access more information about this opportunity.

Teacher Appreciation Week:  PTA is in the midst of planning for Teacher Appreciation Week in May and is looking for volunteers to help with Staff Appreciation Breakfast and Snacks.

Fourth and Fifth Grade Concert: Fourth and Fifth Grade Families Save the Date for our Fourth and Fifth Grade Concert on Monday, May 19th at 6:30 at Jonathan Law High School - Chorus, Band and Strings Will be Together Again!  This spring concert will include the band and string student performances on the same night as chorus rather than two separate evenings! The evening is a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase the hard work and dedication they have put into their music and performance skills this year in music class and instrumental lessons. Be on the lookout for information from Ms. Walsh and Mr. Boots regarding our Spring Concert.

Smart Watches, I-Phones and other Personal Devices: We have noticed that some students are accessing personal technology during the school day.  While we know that these new devices are exciting, we appreciate your help in keeping these items at home or in backpacks so that they do not become a distraction to our learning environment. Please note the MPS BOE Policy regarding personal technology in our schools: At the elementary level - No use of a cell phone/smartwatch or other personal communication device will be permitted during school hours. These devices must be turned off or on silent and left in backpacks, stored in a student’s locker/cubbie or other place designated by building administration. MPS Policy  Thank you for your help.
