News

Good Afternoon Meadowside Families,

Before we jump in with some photos from the week, we wanted to start with a couple quick reminders about arrival/drop off, cold weather clothes and school absences:

  • Arrival and Dismissal: With the colder weather and more students being picked and dropped off by cars, we wanted to take this opportunity to share some arrival and dismissal reminders.

    • Students should always remain on sidewalks, never cutting across drop off or pick up traffic.

    • Afternoon car pick up should take place in the inner loop only - the outer loop is only for morning drop off.  This is important for the safety of all students.

    • Please click here for our Arrival and Dismissal Overview.

  • Boys and Girls Club and YMCA Families: We will be sending home a secondary dismissal sheet for students who are typically in the YMCA or Boys and Girls club so that in the event of an unexpected closing, like this past Monday, we have parent/guardian preferred dismissal on hand.

  • Cold Weather Clothing: Please continue to send your child in with appropriate cold weather clothing - including hats and gloves.  Take a moment, if you haven’t already, to label your child’s clothing, so in the event that they leave it somewhere during the day we can easily get it back to them.

  • Absences: In the event that your child is absent from school, please remember to log their absence in PowerSchool and, as always, if you have a doctor’s note, please remember to send it in so the absence can be excused.

And now on to some photos - First from our HEART Assembly and then from our third grade assembly with Channel 12 News!

Congratulations to all our HEART Winners -- we are so proud of the Effort that you have been showing in your classrooms! And way to go PEP Squad -- we can always count on you to bring on the cheer!

Thank you to Mrs. Guarino for inviting in News Channel 12's Jonathan Cubit to meet with our Third Grade Students. They especially loved being able to jump in and do their own forecasts based on real weather patterns!

Do you or someone you know have an incoming Kindergartener for the 2025 - 2026 school year.  We can’t wait to meet them and registration is NOW open!  Please check out the district message about 25-26 Registration at the end of this newsletter!
