Congratulations to Shambavi and Vihaan for winning our school based spelling Bee last week! Congratulations also to our runner ups who competed across the grade level: Tenzin, Alejandro, Akshansh, and Erina! Thank you to Mrs. Bellizzi, Ms. Aliberti and our Bee Master Mrs. Serviss for your support of all of our students! First place winner, Shambavi, will be moving on to the 38th Annual Citywide Spelling Bee sponsored by the Junior Woman's Club of Milford next week for the final Bee competition! Best of luck Shambavi! Spell On!
We had soooo much fun this week during READ ACROSS AMERICA - be on the lookout for photos in next week’s newsletter including photos of our Tuesday’s Assembly! A very special thank you to our PTA for inviting Author Joe Shandrowski to perform his pep rally for reading with an interactive theater where students even got to dance along to the sounds of Huga Tuga. Thank you also to all the families who came in to read this week -- what a great way to celebrate reading with your child!
If they haven’t already, please remind your children to complete and turn in their Cooper’s Reading Challenge Sheets MONDAY for a chance to enter a lottery for a reading prize!
If you haven’t already -- Sign Up Now for Parent Teacher Conferences: Conferences are coming up on: Wednesday, March 20th 5:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21st 1:45-3:45 p.m., and Friday, March 22nd 1:45-3:45 p.m. Reminder these are early dismissal days for students at 1:15.
STEAM Night is coming up soon! STEAM night is PTA Sponsored event-Wednesday, March 27th 6-7:30PM- Be on the lookout for the 5th grade committee selling raffle tickets, water and snacks at this event!

Community Connection Center News: This week's CCC News contains information and links for a mix of resources & fun activities. Among the community services you will find links for "Foodshare Mobile Pantry date and additional food resources. Milford's St.Patrick Day Parade and swim classes at Milford's Park & Recreation Department. For Family fun you'll find information for New Haven's "Family Fun Zone" event on March 10th. Or you can visit Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens to see all of the amazing wild birds. There is also information about other summer camps.Remember that the CCC Website is updated with links to community resources. To locate the CCC’s web page go to Milford’s main page and click on the Menu tab & scroll down under district Information to find the Community Connections Centers!

Attendance and Dismissal Reminders: If your child is absent, please log in and report their absence through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. For directions of how to fill out the student attendance form please click HERE. As a reminder each student is allowed 9 parent excused absences in the school year any further absences can only be excused with a doctor’s note. If you have a change in dismissal, please remember to send in a note, or email your child’s teacher and our secretary Miss Jones (jjones@milforded.org) and our greeter Mrs. Megan Ansaldo (mansaldo@milforded.org). It is important to email all three in the case that one or more of our staff is absent that day.
