Congratulations to Ayansh in Fourth Grade for being a CT State Winner for their annual Fire Prevention Contest. Ayansh first placed in Milford before moving up and placing on the State Level!
In honor of our 100th day last week, Mrs. Serviss dug into our circulation records -- in the first 100 days of the year, students at Meadowside checked out over 8,600 books! Way to go Meadowside Readers -- keep on reading!
Thank you for joining us today in wearing RED to show our support of some very special Heart Warriors in our community! As we shared last week, February is Heart Health Awareness Month - with a week that honors Congenital Heart Defect Awareness from February 7th to February 14th. As we know, our heart is one of the most important organs of our body and, unfortunately, every year thousands of infants are born with a congenital heart defect (CHD) around the world that results in health and lifestyle challenges to them and their family - so we were happy today to join together by wearing RED to show our Meadowside HEART and support of Heart Warriors near and far!

Our next PTA meeting will be at 6:00 on Tuesday, February 13th in the Meadowside Media Center. Following our PTA meeting at 7:00 we will hold a Fifth Grade Celebration Committee meeting. Fifth Grade Parents keep reading for more information. Fifth Grade Parents - we need YOU! Please join us at 7:00 for a meeting to help plan for our fifth grade celebration. We need volunteers to help in planning and fundraising. We depend on our fifth grade parents to help make the day a success - and need volunteers to jump in and help. Attendance and Dismissal Reminders: If your child is absent, please log in and report their absence through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. For directions of how to fill out the student attendance form please click HERE. As a reminder each student is allowed 9 parent excused absences in the school year any further absences can only be excused with a doctor’s note. If you have a change in dismissal, please remember to send in a note, or email your child’s teacher and our secretary Miss Jones (jjones@milforded.org) and our greeter Mrs. Megan Ansaldo (mansaldo@milforded.org). It is important to email all three in the case that one or more of our staff is absent that day.
