Just a couple quick announcements and reminders this week:
With cold and flu season close by, Nurse Robin and I wanted to remind you to refer to our Health Office resources on our website for questions and guidelines regarding sickness. Additional information can be found in the Health and Wellbeing of our District Handbook.
If you ordered spirit wear through PTA, be on the lookout for it coming home next week.
Fourth and Fifth Grade Families: Minute Meetings continuing in February As we shared earlier this year with our fourth and fifth grade families, school counselors throughout the district are conducting Minute Meetings with all of our 4th and 5th graders. The October meetings were very valuable in getting to know our students, and they will be doing follow-up meetings later in February. As a reminder, Minute Meetings are brief, face-to-face meetings with each child to make sure all of our students are connected in school and they know where to go if they need help. Counselors ask children a few simple questions about their friends, what adult they go to if they need help, their challenges, and their interests. Please contact our school counselor if you have any questions. Also please reach out if your child is in another grade but you would like a check in with a member of our counseling team.
Community Connection Center News:This week's CCC News contains information and links for a mix of resources & fun activities. Among the community services you will find links for the CT FoodShare's Mobile Pantry, American Red Cross's Blood drive, and Adams House's Grief programs. For Family fun you'll find information about Ct. Aubon's Mystery & Magnificence of the Snowy Owl and the Ct. Air & Space Museum. Remember that the CCC Website is updated with links to community resources. To locate the CCC’s web page go to Milford’s main page and click on the Menu tab & scroll down under district Information to find the Community Connections Centers!
Sparkler App for PreK and K families: Because of inclement weather the PDS's SPARKLER "Ring in the New Year" Family Night was moved to Tuesday, Jan. 30th from 5:00pm-7:30pm Contact the MFRC today for registration information by calling Kathy or Judy at 203-783-3626.

Attendance and Dismissal Reminders: If your child is absent, please log in and report their absence through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. For directions of how to fill out the student attendance form please click HERE. As a reminder each student is allowed 9 parent excused absences in the school year any further absences can only be excused with a doctor’s note. If you have a change in dismissal, please remember to send in a note, or email your child’s teacher and our secretary Miss Jones (jjones@milforded.org) and our greeter Mrs. Megan Ansaldo (mansaldo@milforded.org). It is important to email all three in the case that one or more of our staff is absent that day.
