Good evening Meadowside Families -
We are hoping to see you all at our Holiday Festival this evening! The Winter Festival runs from 6-7:30PM at Meadowside. Join us for the cake walk, raffle baskets, treats, crafts, and an opportunity to take pictures with Santa. Entry is free. Raffle Tickets and Cake Sale tickets are sold at the door.
Thank you to our PTA for running this event as well as for sponsoring our Holiday Shop. We are so appreciative of all the volunteers who make these events possible!
Fifth Grade Concert
Congratulations to all our Fifth Grade students for their performances Wednesday. From Band and Strings to Choir -- we appreciated their spreading of Music during the holiday season! A special thank you also to Miss Mr. Brian Boots, Ms. Marguerite Walsh and Miss Robin Fehr for their work with our students!
Our Kindergarten and First Grade students read Pumpkin Jack in Media with Mrs. Serviss and have been engaging in their own observations over the last month!

Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Tuesday, December 12th. If your child is getting their picture redone PLEASE bring in the original pictures you received. If you missed picture day please call the office for the picture code and directions.
Trimester 1 Report Cards: Your child’s Report Card will be available on Thursday, 12/14 after 1 pm to view/print in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. The report card can be accessed right from the grades and attendance screen. You must access it from your web browser and not the Powerschool App. Use the following link to access the PowerSchool Parent Portal. https://gradebook.milforded.org Below is a screen-shot of the page. Community Connection Center News: This week's CCC News contains information and links for a mix of resources & fun seasonal activities. Among the community services you will find links for the CT FoodShare Mobile Pantry, Winter preparedness and CT's warming centers. Enjoy a free "Milford Holiday Concert", by the Miford Concert Band, The YMCA's "Cookies with Claus" or Therapy Minis, Piglet's Playdate with Santa's Reindeer. Remember that the CCC Website is updated with links to community resources.

Spirit Wear Reminder: Meadowside PTA is excited to announce that SPIRIT WEAR IS HERE! This is the only opportunity to order spirit wear this school year. Orders must be placed by December 22nd. Check out our products and place your order at https://meadowsidepta.memberhub.com/store. Orders will be sent home with students in January, if these items are meant to be a surprise please email us at ptameadowside@gmail.com and we can set up a different delivery method.
Kindergarten Registration: While Kindergarten registration is ongoing, the December assessment appointment window is closed for those families who have requested a waiver for their child to enter into Kindergarten for the 2024 - 2025 school year. If you requested a waiver, but did not have the opportunity to schedule a December appointment, you will receive a communication in the near future to make an appointment for the next Kindergarten Waiver assessment. The online Kindergarten registration will remain open, if you have not had the opportunity to register, please do so.
Kindergarten Registration for Students new to MPS: We are pleased to announce that Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 school year opened on Monday, November 13, 2023. If you have a child who will be starting Kindergarten in the fall, registration information will be posted to the district website www.milforded.org. You must register your child for Kindergarten at the school determined by your street address, unless placed by Pupil Personnel Services. School/Street Assignments are available on the district website under “District Information.”
Children born on or before September 1, 2019 are eligible to register for Kindergarten. If your child is not age eligible (but is born September 2, 2019 through December 31, 2019), please use the online registration form if you wish to request a waiver. If you need assistance with the registration portal, please contact the main office of your district assigned school. School contact information can be found on the district website under “ Schools.”

Current RTL and Preschool Families - Students attending either Ready to Learn or a Preschool Program within our district must complete the kindergarten notification form in PowerSchool. If your child is not age eligible (born September 2, 2019 through December 31, 2019,) please indicate on the kindergarten notification form in PowerSchool to request a waiver. If you have already set up a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, you can log in at any time to review/update your contact and emergency contact information. If you do not have a PowerSchool account, please contact the main office. If you are having trouble logging in, please email computerhelpdesk@milforded.org for assistance. Attendance and Dismissal Reminders: If your child is absent, please log in and report their absence through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. For directions of how to fill out the student attendance form please click HERE. As a reminder each student is allowed 9 parent excused absences in the school year any further absences can only be excused with a doctor’s note. If you have a change in dismissal, please remember to send in a note, or email your child’s teacher and our secretary Miss Jones (jjones@milforded.org) and our greeter Mrs. Megan Ansaldo (mansaldo@milforded.org). It is important to email all three in the case that one or more of our staff is absent that day.
