Good evening Meadowside Families -

Wow -- we had so much fun at the FUN RUN today!  Thank you to Mr. Cavagnuolo and our PTA for hosting the event!  It was definitely a #ChallengeAccepted moment as teams ran, cheered and celebrated Meadowside!  Please stay tuned for some photos -- we took so many photos we need a couple days to put them together and share them out!

It is not too late to donate to our Fun Run Fundraiser!  PTA is accepting donations through Tuesday, October 31st.  So if you haven’t contributed already, please hop on to PTA’s 99Pledges page and add your donation today!  This is the one all school fundraiser of the year -- so contribute now so that we can support all the amazing programs, events and family activities  that PTA brings to our school!

Costume Parade is this coming Tuesday, October 31st!   On Tuesday, October 31st at 9:00am, our students will have the opportunity to participate in a costume parade during the school day.  Click here for more information including time, location and guidelines.  Weather permitting, please join us for our Meadowside Costume Parade.  Important reminders:

  • Students will come to school in their costumes! Please have students wear their costumes over their regular clothes and bring a labeled bag for their costumes. (It's a long day to stay in your costume)
  • The parade will start outside the school with students parading out of the left side door - the parade route will then wrap across the back of the school and then around the side where students will re-enter the building through the door closest to the drop off circle.
  • All guests must stay outside for the duration of the parade and will not be allowed in the school for the safety and security of the children.
  • We ask that families line up on the back or side field to get the best view of children marching by. Parking will be limited so arrive early - keeping in mind that you might have to park further away and walk. And, please remember not to park in any bus or fire lanes.
  • Children must have a costume appropriate for elementary school aged children as gory/scary/violent images are not good for our little ones.  Additionally, props, toy weapons, face masks, and make-up, etc., are not allowed.

*Should there be inclement weather that morning, the parade will be held indoors.  In that case, we will only have enough space for all staff and students.

Any family who does not wish their child to participate should contact your child’s teacher in advance so that we may make appropriate arrangements.  We look forward to sharing in this festive event with your children and family!

Veteran’s Day:  On Thursday, November 9th, We will be celebrating Veterans who have protected our freedom over the decades.  If you have a family member, friend or neighbor please help your child with a Blue Star Banner.  If you have a Veteran who would like to participate in being honored at our assembly please click the Invitation and follow the directions.

Thanks for Giving Food Drive: I would like to take a moment to remind everyone of our Annual Thanks for Giving Food Drive sponsored by theScouts.  Starting Monday throughFriday,  November 10th  all students and staff members are invited to donate canned or shelf stable food items to our collection box located in our lobby.

For directions of how to fill out the student attendance form please click HERE.  As a reminder each student is allowed 9 parent excused absences in the school year any further absences can only be excused with a doctor’s note.  If you have a change in dismissal, please remember to send in a note, or email your child’s teacher and our secretary Miss Jones (jjones@milforded.org) and our greeter Mrs. Megan Ansaldo (mansaldo@milforded.org).  It is important to email all three in the case that one or more of our staff is absent that day.  Additionally, please be patient with us as we ask for IDs at the beginning of the year.  It is important that our staff can confirm who you are prior to releasing your child -- this is for the safety and protection of our students.  As we get to know you, we won’t ask for your identification every time - however, if our regular staff is out, we will need to do so again.
