Good evening Meadowside Families

While it was definitely a hot week at Meadowside -- It was still a week full of fun and learning.  Our students and teachers have jumped right back into learning and we can’t wait to share all about it at our Open House next week!

Our school wide open house is scheduled for Thursday September 14th from 6:00 - 8:00. The evening is scheduled so that our parents and guardians can visit classrooms and meet teachers and support staff throughout the building.  Please click HERE for an overview and check your child’s backpack for a hard copy.   We are so looking forward to seeing parents and guardians on Thursday!  Please note that there is no child care during the evening.

Tuesday is our first PTA Open House at 6:00 in the Media Center.  Parents and Guardians are invited to attend - there is no childcare.   Come join in conversations about how to support our Meadowside students, families and staff throughout the year and help plan some fun events for all!

Milford’s Community providers information & updates can be found on our NEW CCC district website along with the CCC’s programs! Attendance and Dismissal Reminders: If your child is absent, please log in and report their absence through the  PowerSchool Parent PortalIf you have a change in dismissal, please remember to send in a note, or email your child’s teacher and our secretary Miss Jones (jjones@milforded.org) and our greeter Mrs. Megan Ansaldo (mansaldo@milforded.org).  It is important to email all three in the case that one or more of our staff is absent that day.  Additionally, please be patient with us as we ask for IDs at the beginning of the year.  It is important that our staff can confirm who you are prior to releasing your child -- this is for the safety and protection of our students.  As we get to know you, we won’t ask for your identification every time - however, if our regular staff is out, we will need to do so again.

Milford Food Services Reminder: The following changes are in place regarding our Milford Food Service offerings:

  • Breakfast meals will be FREE OF CHARGE for ALL students in the Milford Public Schools.
  • For students who QUALIFY for free or reduced-price meals, (determined by the completion of the Free/Reduced Price Meals Application or via Direct Certification), lunch meals will continue to be offered free of charge.
  • For students who DO NOT QUALIFY for Free/Reduced-Price Meals, lunch meals will be offered at full price which is $3.35.  Click here to link to the Food Service Webpage for information on buying school lunches.
  • If you have questions, please call the Foodservice Department at (203) 783-3490.

We strongly encourage everyone to review the Free/Reduced Meals Application as many of the income benchmarks have changed over the past 2 years – and you may now qualify even if you haven’t in the past

Chromebook Insurance Reminder: You Can Renew When You Enter the Parent Portal - Many parents have reached out to us to ask about Chromebook Insurance.  We are happy to report that our low-cost Chromebook Insurance program is WELL worth the annual renewal fee ($25 per year).  If you’ve got kids, then you already know there’s always the potential for something to happen to the Chromebook during the year: cracked screen, broken hinges, water damage, just to name a few.  Do yourself a favor. Purchase the insurance – it will give you peace of mind and save you a lot of aggravation when something goes wrong.  You can renew your insurance right on your Parent Portal account when you first sign in next.  If you have any questions, please contact our BIDS dept. at (203) 783-3446
