It was great to see so many of our families at our Spring Concert this week! Congratulations to our fourth grade choir and our fourth and fifth grade band and strings students for their performances. AND a very special thank you to Mr. Boots, Mr. Burns and Ms. Walsh!

Music with Al deCant, US's Coast Guard Boat Safety classes, Mobile Food Pantry, and The 12th annual New Canaan Dog Days. Remember that the CCC website is updated with links to community resources. We are continuing SBA (Smarter Balance Assessment) this week. As we have shared our elementary students in grades three through five are taking the Math and English Language Arts SBA during the weeks of May 1st and May 8th with the state Science test being administered during the week of May 18th. Students will not be testing every day and there are make-up days for those students who may need them due to missed days or more time. Here are some reminders:
Students will utilize their own district issued chromebooks. Please make sure students have charged their chromebooks every night.
Students will need headphones. If you have a pair at home that your student is comfortable using, please send them in each day or they can keep them at school. If they do not, we will provide a pair for them.
Please try to make sure your student gets a good night's sleep and eats breakfast each morning so they are ready to do their best.

Spring Plant Sale: Students will have an opportunity to shop with their class on Friday, May 12th. All plants will be $2. We recommend sending them to school with a shoe box to make carrying the plants home a little easier. If you can volunteer please sign up here. Pre ordered Hanging Basket pickup is on May 12th from 4-6pm.
Scholastic Book Fair: Save the date, June 2nd for shopping during the day and our family event from 3:30 - 7:00. This is a buy one, get one free event. A great opportunity to purchase some books to read over the summer.
School of Excellence Program: Meadowside PTA is enrolled in this national program. We need your help. One of the final steps in the program is to survey our school community. Milford Council of PTAs is proud and excited to announce MARLENE SANCHEZ will be the recipient of their National PTA Lifetime Achievement Award for 2023. Marlene is currently a PK teacher at Live Oaks -- and has served our youngest students across the district throughout her entire career. In addition to her vibrant work with MPS, Marlene has been deeply involved with a variety of special needs programming in Milford, including Camp Happiness and the Milford Adaptive Program (MAP) through the Milford Recreation Department. Congratulations and thank you, Ms. Sanchez, for your tireless efforts to improve the Milford community.
