Hello JFK Families!

Our Veteran's Day assembly was amazing! Our students did a wonderful job performing and it was wonderful to see everyone together again!

Students sang songs that they learned with Ms. Voss.  They also presented cards and poems to our special guests. It was a wonderful tribute to our American heroes.  Mr. Bill spoke about the flag and the significance of its colors.   On behalf of the JFK community we would like to thank our PTO, teachers, staff and students for their joint effort in making this day a memorable one! To our special guest veterans and our families who attended, thank you for spending the morning with us at JFK School.

Specialist Spotlight - Art

Happy November JFK families!

As the fall season continues, all grades are working on their own fall inspired pieces. Kindergarten students are working on skills such as cutting, gluing, and painting to create their own fall landscape. Grade 1 is learning about patterns, shape, and background/foreground to create their own scarecrow scene. Grade 2 students are working on symmetrical owls, and grade 3 began to take a look at Vincent Van Gogh’s sunflowers, learning about composition and creating their very own still life including various flowers. Grade 4 will be focusing on the techniques of soft pastel to create their very own animal eyes. Grade 5 is making landscapes inspired by the artist Ted Harrison.

If you want to reach out, feel free to email me at kbenedetti@milforded.org and show me some of the work being created at home!
