The 5th Grade Celebration for students is on Tuesday, June 14th from 12-3pm, and parent volunteers are needed! Please sign up here.
The end of year JFK Family Luau is Friday, June 10th, but you have to register in advance. Be sure to sign-up here!

Please take a moment to review Dr. Cutaia’s letter regarding the recent tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Texas. Events like this, regardless of distance or location, are challenging to understand and process. Please reach out to the school should you or your family need any additional support.
Parent University - Join us for our next Parent University on Tuesday, June 7th at 6pm at Milford Library. More information and to RSVP, click here.
Library Book Returns- As the year begins to wind down, we are working to collect library books that have been checked out to students this year. Bins will be placed around the school for students to return books and reminder slips will be sent home to students who have books checked out. Please take time to look through your house and bookshelves to ensure library books are returned! The last day that students can check out books from our school library is Friday, June 3. Thank you! School Counselor Update - Career Week/Day is coming up. Please see the attached flier. The information was sent out at the beginning of the week to all families.
Milford Fire Department - 2021-2022 Fire Prevention Poster Contest -
This past week Sr. Fire Inspector Tim Suden visited JFK to deliver JFK’s winners’ goody bag. In January Deekshavardhini Satheesh was announced as one of the winners. Along with her family and classmates she received her award and goody bag. Congratulations to her!

Specialist Spotlight - Media
As the end of the year approaches, students will be spending more time on technology skills in Library Media. For Kindergarten, it might look like drawing pictures on their tablets. With the other, younger grades, it means typing practice and using apps in Google. For the oldest students, it entails conducting research and making a final product to showcase their learning.
The last day that students will be able to borrow library books this year is Friday, June 3, 2022. Please help your child or children return their loans by Friday, June 10, 2022. Around that time, I will send out receipts with all outstanding items. I know that some students have accumulated a large number of books. If you need to make a special arrangement to return them, please let me know and we will work something out.
Thank you to all of the families for your support with this matter and for your ongoing support throughout the year! I wish you lots of happiness this summer and I encourage you to keep reading with the Milford Public Library's summer reading program! Details will be released soon.

Lost and Found - We have many items in the lost and found. All items will be donated in June prior to the end of the school year.
Parent University - Another exciting Parent University is happening. The focus is literacy and keeping our students engaged through the summer months. The Parent U session will be hosted at the Milford Library on Tuesday June 7 from 6-8pm. There will be a lot of fun learning activities, games and raffles. A special guest reader will also be joining the fun!

Field Day is back!
We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Field Day is happening on Thurs. 6/9. Everyone loves Field Day - including the adults! This is our most popular volunteer event of the year, so let us know if you want to spend the day playing outside with the kiddos! Check out the flyer for more info, and sign-up to volunteer here. Deadline for volunteers is Weds. 6/1.
Sign-Up Today - JFK Family Luau
We’re celebrating the end of the year and the return to fun, family events, so mark your calendars for Friday, June 10th! The 5th annual JFK Family Luau will be from 5:30-7:30pm, with a rain date of June 17th. Join us for this free family event featuring a DJ, photo booth, face painting and more! RSVP is required, so be sure to sign-up here today!
Last PTO Meeting - Wednesday June 1st
Our last PTO meeting of the year is coming up next Weds 6/1 at 7PM in the cafeteria. Free childcare is available for JFK students. Please join us to swear-in our new Board of Directors and thank the volunteers who supported us this year, including a farewell to our 5th grade parents. The meeting will be short followed by an end of year party - stay for desserts and social time!

Subway has also made a generous donation that will allow us to offer a FREE Subway boxed lunch for our 5th graders on Friday, June 3rd! Check those backpacks and look out for the lunch release and order form going home with your child today. Forms must be returned to the school by Wednesday, June 1st. If the forms are not received by June 1st, we will assume your child is not participating in the special FREE lunch.
