Hello JFK Families,
We conducted our routine fire drill today under the direction of the Milford Fire Department. Students did a great job exiting the building quickly and safely while following all of our protocols and procedures! Thank you to our classroom teachers for all their work reinforcing these expectations in their classrooms.
Report cards will be available for parents to review next Friday, December 17th. This is a great opportunity to see your child’s progress thus far this year. Communication is very important to us at JFK. Please remember, you can reach out to your child’s teacher at any time to discuss their progress, share a positive experience, ask a question, or inform us of a concern. Thank you for your continued partnership!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our PTO fundraiser at Pop's Family Restaurant on Wednesday! 20% of the proceeds will be donated to Milford Food 2 Kids to help feed families in our community this holiday season. Thank you all for your generosity!
Have a great weekend!

Specialist Spotlight - STEM
Science at JFK has been a great adventure over the last few weeks! We've finished our first science unit with all 6 of our grades, and we are looking forward to jumping into unit 2 after the break! Our photos this week feature some third grade work in which they created structures to live in different climates. They did a great job of including features to combat the dangers of their climates, like pipe cleaner fans for our hot climates, and campfires for our freezing climates. We will also be able to engage every class with an activity to make instant snow! The PTO was generous enough to purchase a kit for every student at JFK and students have been cycling through the Lab to explore it. Finally, I'm looking forward to starting unit two with our JFK scientists when we return from our break! If you have any science questions, feel free to reach out to me at zsabo@milforded.org.

Frosty Fest
JFK PTO is participating in the Milford Prevention Council’s 2nd annual Frosty Fest now through January! Milford’s downtown green is decorated with “snowpeople” sponsored by Milford businesses and families. We created our own JFK PTO snowman to be part of the festive display and support this great cause. We encourage you to grab your family and take a walk around the Green to check out all the great snowpeople. Snap a picture with the JFK PTO snowman (located around 155 Broad Street) and share it on our Facebook page, tag us on social #milfordjfkpto or email it to us by December 31st and you will be entered to win a prize! There will also be a chance to VOTE for your favorite snowman but the details are not released by the organizer yet, stay tuned! Thank you to our awesomely creative PTO member Stacey Stevens and her family for creating our JFK snowman - we appreciate your time and effort! Proceeds from Frosty Fest will benefit Milford Prevention Council’s substance use prevention and mental health awareness programming for our local youth.
Teacher Gift ideas
We are all grateful for the hard work and dedication of our JFK teachers and staff! Gifts are never required, but if you’re planning to get a gift card for a teacher or staff member this year, we can help! Send us an email with the teacher/staff member name and we’ll send you information on their favorites, if we have it. Email us at ptojfk@gmail.com
