Hello, Hawk Families!
We are looking forward to opening our school doors to welcome back our Hawk learning community on Wednesday, August 28th! This week each family should have received a packet of information from the school that includes important information. Please take time to read the information provided and reach out to us if you have any questions. We look forward to a wonderful school year learning and growing together! Let’s SOAR in `24!
Below you will find some helpful information and reminders for the start of the school year:
School Hours: 8:40 am-3:25 pm. Drop off begins at 8:20am
PowerSchool Parent Portal is open. Be sure to complete the 3 required parent forms for this school year.
Bus numbers are now posted in PowerSchool

Arrival and Dismissal Information Please read the linked arrival and dismissal information that was sent out via mail and linked here. If you are dropping off your child please pull all the way forward in line and remain in the car for safety. If you wish to get out of the car, please park in a designated parking spot and walk your child to the parking lot crosswalk. Mr. Kee will assist your child in crossing safely.
Yellow Dismissal Forms were sent home in the mailing this week and should be completed and sent in with your child on the first day of school.
Dismissal Car Tags should be placed on your dashboard/mirror when lining up for pick up. We ask that you please do not line up in the parking lot prior to 3pm.
Kindergarten Playdate at JFK, Saturday, August 24th at 11am. Playdate Flier
Pre K and Kindergarten Welcome Tours. This year we are happy to have our incoming Preschool and Kindergarten families and students join us for a welcome tour the day before school begins. During this time you will meet your child’s teacher and other support staff, see the classroom and go on an optional bus ride. This will take place on Tuesday, August 27th @ 1 pm for Pre-K and 2pm for Kindergarten.
Please remember to send in a reusable water bottle with your child. Students have access to our water stations and can refill as necessary throughout the day.
MPS Food Services- Click for information on breakfast and lunch offerings. We are pleased to welcome a new Kitchen Manager to JFK this year. Marisa Gjuraj will be leading our food services team and can be reached at mgjuraj@milforded.org
If your student has a district issued Chromebook, please make sure they bring it fully charged the first day of school. We will be teaching our students how to access key materials online. Students previously not issued district Chromebooks will be issued devices as needed during the first few weeks of school. As always, if your family is having trouble with your district issued chrome book, please contact our Digital Services through computerhelpdesk@milforded.org or at 203-783-3446. Remind your child to keep reading! We’d love to see their adventures in reading with Flat Hawkie when we return to school.
