Hello JFK Families,
This is our final newsletter of the year. It has been a pleasure being your Interim Principal. JFK is a vibrant community and I feel honored to have been a part of it.
Please remember that Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are early dismissal days. Students leave at 1:25PM.
This week the mural has been installed and it is beautiful. Thank you to all of the parents that volunteered their time to install it. We had many visitors come to see it in process, Mr. Brennan, Dr Cutaia, and Mayor Smith. The students were so excited to see the tiles they painted in the mural. This gift from the PTO will bring years of joy to JFK!
I hope you all enjoy the lazy days of summer!

Ben’s Bells - For this year’s campus beautification project, the PTO sponsored an “Inspire Kindness” mosaic tile installation in the hallway right outside the main office. It’s a project made possible by your generous donations during Hawk-a-Thon and coordinated with Ben’s Bells, a national organization dedicated to teaching individuals and communities about the positive impacts of intentional kindness.
The 6’x8’ mosaic is made of hundreds of brightly colored tiles cutout and painted by students at JFK and installed by staff and parents. The mural symbolizes that our JFK community is linked through our collective acts of kindness towards each other and the world at large. It is truly reflective of the spirit of JFK.
Lost and Found - We have many items in the lost and found. All items will be donated on the last day of school . Please remind your student to come and look for any lost items.
Community Connection Center -This week's Community Connection Center's Newsletter (CCC News) contains information about several fun summer programs taking place in and around Milford. Don't miss The New Haven Ballet's free performance under the stars, Friday June 9th at 6pm on the Branford Town Green!
If you are looking for more information go to the CCC website for updated links to community resources. Have a safe, healthy and wonderful summer break!

In the Spotlight - World Language
¡Hola from Señorita Polansky!
We have had such an amazing year in Elementary World Language! Students in PreK through 4th grade have had the opportunity to receive Spanish instruction 2-3 times a week and continue to increase their proficiency. Some exciting highlights were:
PreK received Spanish instruction for the first time this year!
K&1 ended the year talking about our favorite topic: Food!
2nd grade ended the year with our “Animals of the Galapagos Islands” in Ecuador and the winner was the León Marino!
3rd grade completed our 1st Mania Musical competition- and the winner was Marc Anthony’s “Vivir Mi Vida” (an overall favorite!)
3rd and 4th graders read their first comprehensible input novel in Spanish “La Perezosa Impaciente” by Mira Canion
We are so thrilled to integrate our 5th grade Spanish Curriculum next year!
Thank you all for your support of the Elementary World Language program! I hope you all have a fun and restful summer vacation!
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns at rpolansky@milforded.org.
