The search for your new leader has begun. Dr. Cutaia and Ms. Kopazna, Director of Human Resources have begun screening applicants and will be forming panels so all stakeholders will be involved in the process. Please watch for communication from Dr. Cutaia.
A special thank you to the PTO for the outstanding event today for our students. Casey Carle, a bubble-ologist, entertained the student with his magic of bubbles. Field Day - Believe it or not, field day is NEXT WEEK!!! Weather permitting, field day will be Friday, May 26, 2023. The day will be filled with awesome activities, music, lunch, a snack and fun fun fun!!! Please be sure your student dresses like they would on a P.E. day with sneakers, comfy clothes they can move in easily, and their class JFK t-shirt. We will be outside for a longer period of time so please dress for the weather and pack a water bottle! I can't wait!!!

Lost and Found - We have many items in the lost and found. All items will be donated on the last day of school . Please remind your student to come and look for any lost items.
Kindergarten Registration -For our incoming Kindergarten families who are fully registered or currently in a MPS preschool program this week. If your child is eligible for Kindergarten but you have not yet registered, please click the link to register and be included in this Kickoff to Kindergarten experience.
Community Connection Center -This week's Community Connection Center's Newsletter (CCC News) contains information from Bridges about May's Mental Health Month, summer programs offered to Milford's youth and two free family events in the greater New Haven area. Remember that the CCC website is updated with links to community resources. Have a great time enjoying this pleasant sunny weather together!

Respect Stars - May is Respect Month! Each classroom discussed respect and what it means and who should represent their classroom as their respect star. Congratulations to all the winners. Certificates will be distributed at our school event on Tuesday, May 30th at 1:15 PM. All the respect star winners and their families are invited to attend.
Two students were nominated to be the Ambassadors of Respect to represent our school at the Annual Respect Celebration. JFK has chosen Zoe Hughes and Yi Nuo Chen. Invitations will be sent from downtown. All Respect Stars are invited to March in the Memorial Day Parade. More details to come.

Parent University - This Parent University will be focused on summer reading and will take place on June 6th. We hope you can join us. See the attached flier with the registration link and more information.
In the Spotlight - Art
Hi JFK Families!
This past week was our district art show where 50 students from JFK were selected! We had a wonderful turn out and I am so proud of each and every student here at JFK for their amazing artwork this year! If you have not had a chance to see the artwork that was displayed, it is available to view at Parsons until June 1st.
As the year comes to an end, I will be sending home all of the artwork that we have created over the past year.

Today was BubbleMania!
All the kids enjoyed a super fun assembly today from the hilarious science folks at BubbleMania! Students got to learn about the science behind bubbles in a unique blend of science, art and comedy! Check out their website to learn more, and be sure to ask your kiddos about it!
Announcing the JFK End of Year Picnic - Friday 6/9!
We’re thrilled to be hosting another End of Year Picnic for all JFK families on Friday 6/9 from 6-8pm. Bring your own picnic dinner, blanket and chairs.
