Hello JFK Families!

We had a great week full of exciting activities and events for Read Across America! I wanted to share a quick thank you to our two Literacy Instructional Coaches, Elise Rosengrant and Gina Depuma, for all their hard work and efforts to make this week fun and engaging for our students. In addition, I also wanted to thank the PTO for all their support of the events, including purchasing a craft for each student! At the family literacy night on Wednesday, and also this afternoon at a whole school assembly, a handful of our teachers performed a short play called Cinder-Really!! Thank you to the teachers who performed, it was great and the students seemed to have a great time!!

Attention 5th grade families! The PTO is hard at work on the 5th grade yearbook, and they need your photos by today! Check out the PTO News section for more info on how to easily submit pictures of your child’s time at JFK.

Have a great weekend!

In the Spotlight - Physical Education

Hello JFK Families and Friends!

Somehow we are almost to spring! This year is flying by, probably because we are having so much fun! Right now, we are working on underhand and overhand throwing in PreK-2nd Grade. We are playing games like Oscar the Grouch and Birthday Candle to develop these skills.Grade 3-5 are just beginning their work on hand-eye coordination with stations like rock-climbing, ring toss and javelin throwing. In addition to P.E. the fourth graders are also beginning their health rotation and are learning about decision making.

Hopefully the weather will start to warm up even more soon so we can begin some outdoor activities!
