GOOD AFTERNOON HMS FAMILIES:

“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall.”-Oscar Wilde

The weather for the start of the long weekend is going to be crisp. Friday evening into Saturday will be chilly, and the rest of the weekend will warm up a bit. It’s good weekend weather for apple picking: a time of cooler temperatures, colorful leaves, and seasonal treats.

Please take a few minutes to review the below updates and reminders.

  • All HMS students are required to have their swipe badges with them at all times.

  • Badges are used to swipe;

    • On and off the bus.

    • In the cafeteria starting Monday, September 19.

    • In the Media Center to check out books.

    • We are asking for all parents/guardians to help us by making sure their student remembers to bring his/her swipe card each day.

    • If your child(ren) misplaced their swipe badge or did not receive (new students to the district), please have them come to the greeter’s desk.

  • Dress Code Reminder -

    • For your convenience and review, please click Dress and Grooming  for a copy of the district’s policy related to dress and grooming.

    • Please take note that the policy encourages students to dress in clothing appropriate to the school situation.

      • A good rule of thumb for determining clothing appropriate to the school situation is to:

        • Consider standing or bending, as clothing should cover body parts without having to be pulled or tugged at.

        • Consider clothing that covers/conceals undergarments (including sport undergarments).

  • Constitution Drive Construction Continues -

    • The City of Milford continues to replace sidewalks along Constitution Drive.

    • Families should continue to use the HMS drop-off/pick-up area in front of the school during this time.

    • Walkers should also not use Constitution Drive during this time. These students are to use High Street to access the school.

    • Please note that the area along Constitution Drive is not an official drop-off/pick-up location for the school.
