Please take a moment to read over a few important updates and reminders.
SBA Testing to Starts Next Week
The testing window is from Monday, May 2 through May 19.
Students are to be at school in their homerooms at 8:00 AM.
Students late to school/testing or absent on a testing day will be scheduled for a make-up test and be pulled from class to take the assessment.
Students are taking the assessments first thing in the morning.
Testing days -
Monday, May 2 - Thursday, May 5
Tuesday, May 10 and Wednesday, May 11
Thursday, May 19 Grade 8 only for Science
Make-up days -
Friday, May 6 and Monday, May 9
Thursday, May 12 - Tuesday, May 17
Students are to come to school everyday with charged chromebooks, headphones or earbuds, and their chromebook charger as the assessment is taken using the chromebook.

Math Festival at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport
Sacred Heart University is hosting a Julia Robinson Math Festival at the Discovery Museum on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 10 AM – 12:30 PM.

Student Absences and Early Pick Up -
To report an absence, parents need to log into PowerSchool and click on “Forms” to enter an absence.
If you need to pick up your child early for an appointment, please come to the front door with your driver license as you will need to check in with the Greeter and sign out your child.
If the early pick-up is known prior to the start of school, please send in a note with your child in the morning to give to our Greeter, Mrs.Tilt, or email ktilt@milforded.org. Our Greeter will then give your child an early release pass to come to the lobby to make the pick up more efficient.
Monday, May 2 - Thursday, May 19 - Smarter Balanced Assessment testing window.
Thursday, May 5 - Middle School Strings Concert at 7:00 PM at Parsons Complex.
Tuesday, May 10 - HMS Band and Chorus Night at HMS. Times for each grade have been communicated out to families and students previously by the teachers.
Thursday, May 12 - Last day for After School Activities and Late Buses.
Wednesday, May 18 - Early release for students at 12:45 PM. Professional Learning for staff in the afternoon.
Thursday, May 19 - Incoming grade 6 students from feeder schools visit HMS.
Thursday, May 26 - Virtual Orientation Night for Incoming grade 6 families. Fliers will be sent home to grade 5 families from current elementary school.
Monday, May 30 - No school for Memorial Day.
June 16, 17, 20 - Early release for students at 12:45 PM - Last 3 days of school.
