HAPPY FRIDAY HMS FAMILIES:
November has breezed in with chilly weather this week but with that comes “Yummy” comfort food like chili, stews, soups, and of course, pasta! Embrace the cooler weather and possibly cook some great food this weekend. Please take a moment to read over a few important updates and reminders.
Thanks for Giving Food Drive -
HMS will be participating in the Boy Scouts 17th Annual Thanks for Giving Food Drive.
On Friday, November 12, HMS students and staff can donate a shelf-stable grocery item to help support HMS and Milford community families.
Donations can be placed in the collection boxes located outside each grade level entrance on Friday, November 12.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and for your donation.
In Honor of Veterans Day -
On Thursday, November 11 we are asking HMS students and staff to wear RED, White, and BLUE in honor of Veterans Day.

After School Activities and Late Buses Started Last Week -
If your child is participating in an after school activity, please remind them in the morning to stay for their club/activity on the day of the club.
Late buses will depart from the school at approximately 4:00 - 4:05.
Late buses are only for students that have an assigned bus for normal transportation to and from school.
Students that walk or get dropped off are not eligible to take the late bus.
Homework Club is available for students to stay on Tuesday and Thursday.
Any student who wishes to stay for homework club on any given Tuesday or Thursday needs to communicate to their ASA teacher that they are staying for homework club.
ASA teachers will notify the office of students attending homework club on that day.
We are requesting this information as the bus company needs to plan ahead for bus stop locations for students not regularly attending clubs.
Student Absences and Early Pick Up -
To report an absence, parents need to log into PowerSchool and click on “Forms” to enter an absence.
If you need to pick up your child early for an appointment, please come to the front door with your driver license as you will need to check in with the Greeter and sign out your child.
If the early pick-up is known prior to the start of school, please send in a note with your child in the morning to give to our Greeter, Mrs.Tilt, or email ktilt@milforded.org. Our Greeter will then give your child an early release pass to come to the lobby to make the pick up more efficient.
Adopt-A-Family Holiday Program -
The Milford Department of Human Services is sponsoring this holiday program to support families in need during the holiday season.
