Dear HMS Families,
We hope this letter finds you well and enjoying the summer with your family. We wish to offer you and your child a sincere and warm welcome to the Harborside Middle School community.
Our hope is that you and your child will become an active part of life here in the HMS learning community. The faculty and staff wish to partner with you to help make your child’s experience here at HMS a tremendous success.
We would like to invite your child for a brief tour of the building and an opportunity to meet our HMS staff on Thursday, August 26, 2021. While we were unable to have our students visit us in May, our ultimate goal is for the transition from elementary to middle school be seamless, and it is our hope that this mini tour/orientation will be helpful.
The tours will provide your child with a snapshot of what a typical day at HMS will look like. It is our hope to instill confidence in your child and to provide them with some familiarity and comfort with their new surroundings.
Tour times are by small groups and students are to attend during their assigned time slot. Students are asked to enter and exit HMS from the front of the school. Regardless of vaccination status, please make sure your child wears a face mask at all times and follows the MPS social distancing protocols.
Tour times are alphabetical and will be based on your child’s last name. Please note that these tours are for students only. Parents are respectfully asked to wait outside for their child or use this opportunity to take a quick ride, walk, or
grab a coffee!
