GOOD AFTERNOON HMS FAMILIES:
Next week will be chock-full of different activities, as after school clubs begin on Monday the 14th. Whether your child has signed up for sports, artistic endeavors, acting, etc., there is something for everyone to enjoy. Please note that clubs will Not take place on Tuesday, October 15 due to conferences taking place.
We look forward to seeing you on either Tuesday night or Wednesday afternoon for parent/teacher conferences!
Please take a moment to review a few important updates and reminders.
HMS Afterschool Clubs -
Clubs officially start Monday, October 14 and run from 2:55 PM to 4:00 PM
Students assigned to a bus for transportation to and from school will be assigned a late bus.
All other students will need to be picked up.
There are NO clubs on Tuesday, October 15 as it is a half day due to conferences.
Early Dismissal Tuesday and Wednesday -
Students are dismissed at 12:35 PM on half days during conference days.

HMS Scholastic Book Fair is Back -
The book fair will be open from Monday, October 14th to Friday, October 18th during school hours and parent report card conferences.
Parents can set up an eWallet for their child to shop at the book fair.

HMS Annual Veterans Day Celebration -
Each year HMS holds “Bring a Veteran to School Day” in November around Veterans Day.

Student Meal and Beverage Reminders-
Please know that we do not permit students to receive lunch delivered from outside restaurants from parents or Door dash.

Families can now access the online conference schedule system. See below for additional information.
Access to the online system -
Go to the HMS website and click on “Sign Up Now” and follow the directions.
Quick tip: Look for emails from “noreply@myconferencetime.com” when searching email for conference confirmation communications.
Scheduling Reminder -
Due to limited slots available per teacher, it is not possible for every parent/guardian to meet with every one of their child’s teachers. Therefore, parents/guardians are asked to limit their selection to two core teachers per student (Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science,Spanish, or French) and three Unified Arts teachers (Phys. Ed., Art, Music, Tech Ed, and Health).
If parents/guardians wish to meet with additional core/unified art teachers or the team as a whole please contact the specific teacher or team to set up a mutually agreed upon time, during the school day, outside of the conference dates to meet.
Parents/guardians can also schedule meetings with the guidance counselor, social worker, psychologist, speech and language, and special education teachers using this system.
