Mastery Based Diploma Assessment

The Mastery Based Diploma Assessment (MBDA) is a graduation requirement with this year’s senior class. This one credit experience provides our seniors with an opportunity to reflect on their years as a Milford Public Schools student in alignment with the district’s Vision of the Learner. On January 23, 2023, the seniors will gather in a special advisory session to learn about this opportunity. In subsequent advisories throughout the month of February, they will document their personal reflections. While the seniors are engaged in this work, our 9 - 11th graders will be participating in a Say Something training session with Sandy Hook Promise through Zoom.

Say Something

On Monday during Advisory, students in grades 9-11 will experience Say Something, a virtual training session from Sandy Hook Promise. Say Something empowers students to grow a community of upstanders that looks out for the safety of their communities. Please click here for additional information.

VFW Voice of Democracy Contest

Congratulations to Maddie Elmo!

Maddie  won the contest for the city of Milford and was invited to read her essay to members of the VFW and other special guests.

Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Each year, nearly 80,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is, “Why Is The Veteran Important?”
