FORAN WINS THE MICHAELS CUP AWARD!

The Cup was created in the early 1980s as the brainchild of Roy Michaels, the owner of Michaels Jewelry, in an effort to recognize outstanding athletic programs. In 2008 CIAC began direct oversight of the program. Then in 2017, the focus of The Cup transitioned to honoring schools for their commitment to sportsmanship.

The Michaels Cup honors exemplary athletics programs for their willingness to subscribe to the Class Act Sportsmanship standards, empowering students to take an active role in their school climate and their continued support for community service.

Thanksgiving Game Parking Information

As you know, we are expecting larger than usual attendance for the Foran-Law Thanksgiving football game at Jonathan Law. We have been informed that the Kmart plaza which has always been used for parking, will not be available this year. Therefore, we have decided to provide shuttle bus service from the Walnut Beach Parking Lot. Durham will be providing 4 or 5 buses that will begin shuttling at 8:30 am and run until all attendees are returned to Walnut Beach after the game.

The Foran High School Athletic Department and The Foran Sports Booster Club have teamed up to honor a deserving varsity athlete each week of the season throughout the 2022-2023 school year. Each recipient will be recognized for their performance in the “Friday News” and they will also receive a tee shirt.

The Foran Sports Booster Club Athlete of the Week

Junior Brandon Payne has been selected for his outstanding performance in Football. Brandon has been an iron man for the Lion’s this year as it is rare that he ever leaves the field. On offense, Brandon helped pave the way for the rushing attack and provided protection for the pass game.  On defense, Brandon had 12 tackles and one for a loss. Congratulations Brandon!

Congratulations to Kylee Payne on signing to play lacrosse at Saint Rose College in NY.  Kylee is a tireless worker for the Lion's lacrosse team and excels as an attack on the field.  Go Kylee!  We are so proud of you!
