In Spanish 3 students practiced their listening skills and vocabulary with a look at nature in the Spanish speaking world. They watched a traveler's video on Las Cataratas de Iguazú (Waterfalls of Iguazú) in Argentina, and learned about the different falls that are there, as well as other information about the falls. Finally they were able to make some connections by comparing it to Niagara Falls.

Students in Mrs. Cacioppo’s Introduction to Business classes designed Foran High School t-shirts and asked classmates how much they would pay for the t-shirt.  Using this data students graphed the demand curve and were given the data to graph the supply curve. Students then determined the market price for their t-shirts. Students applied the law of supply and law of demand in this t-shirt simulation.

Intro to Photography Students Explore Visual Balance in Composition

Students created high contrast designs to represent the four types of visual balance of 2D Design.

Symmetricalarranging elements on either side of the center of a composition in an equally weighted manner

Asymmetricalarranging elements of all different visual weights in such a way that each side is still balanced out

Radialelements radiate out (in a circular shape) from one main center point

CrystallographicAlso called mosaic or “allover” balance, this type of balance is about repetition

Small paper squares were organized to represent the desired type of balance and then photographed. Images were edited to adjust the aspect ratio, enhance the contrast, adjust the white balance, and remove unwanted specks. These designs were created by Elizabeth Adkins, Matt Cioppa, Sophie Hofmeister, Azam Hostetler, Joey Kaminski, Maria Korman, Teresa Lin, and Rebecca Scicchitano. Can you match the design with the correct type of balance?

This week in Mrs. GaNun students learned a new game called Hantis. Students found it difficult to play this hand style table tennis but with some practice, teamwork and determination they soon got the hang of it.
