Students in Mrs. Cassell's English 1 classes began their unit on the role of ethics in society. Students met in groups to discuss the question: What does it mean to be an ethical person? This was done in anticipation of reading “The Perils of Indifference” by Elie Wiesel.

In the Human Anatomy and Physiology class Mr.Stern demonstrated how to dissect an eyeball.

In Spanish 3, we have been reviewing vocabulary that relates to art and culture. We have also been talking about the famous Velazquez painting "Las Meninas". Model UN

Last weekend students of the Model United Nations Classes participated in the Model United Nations Conference at the University of Yale. Students participation in the conference counts as their final in the class. 29 students participated in numerous committees helping solve the world's issues, discussing the future of our planet, and even starting a coup d'etat in a crisis committee. Model United Nations runs every fall and is a fun way to get your global credit,  practice public speaking skills, and diversify your resume! Thanks for all that participated in the conference and made it an incredible experience for all.

Students in Ms. Plude’s Ceramics class have finished up their final projects. Their challenge was to research and create a presentation highlighting ancient pottery and its function from at least one of their heritages to create an inspired vessel incorporating at least one design element from it. Here are some examples from: Bella Mema,Ellen Pan, & Rylie Keller

Students in Ms. Plude’s Sculpture & 3D Design class have been busy creating Styrogami sculptures inspired by the art of J. Jules Vitali. Their challenge was to create an abstract sculpture that demonstrates how positive and negative space depend on each other to make space more interesting. They had to think specifically about using Art Principles repetition, rhythm, and balance to unify their sculptures. They were only given 3 cups and an exacto knife to create these sculptures.
