In Physics of the Universe, we designed, built, and tested Egg Catcher devices to explore how safety equipment, such as airbags and seatbelts, increases collision time in order to reduce the force experienced.

In AP Psychology with Mr. Williams, students launched their Motivation, Emotions, & Personality unit this week.  To get the ball rolling, each class had 3 volunteers compete in a game of "Wastebasketball" where they selected 1 of 3 distances to shoot baskets from (the farther the distance the more points given on a made shot).  One catch though, once the distance was selected, the student could not change.  Winners were awarded candy.  This allowed for meaningful discussion on the following question:  Do you make decisions based on the desire to succeed or on the fear of possible failure?

Foran CNA students are enjoying their clinical experiences caring for patients at West River Rehab Center in Milford.

The Culinary l class prepared vanilla pudding,  pancakes and French toast this week for our dairy and egg unit. The hallways had a breakfast aroma all week. Bakeshop  continued with the breakfast theme, and prepared Belgian waffles and banana bread.  The Advanced Culinary class prepared turkey meatballs and a wild rice chicken soup, utilizing a veloute sauce as the base.

This marking period Mrs. GaNun is teaching 4 TEAMS classes. This is a course that students learn various academic concepts that revolve around being part of a team.  Each group created a team name and logo and put it on a team uniform shirt which they wear to class. These last few classes students participated in various team building challenges and will be enjoying quad type games in the weeks to come. Everyone is doing such a wonderful job at communicating and working together as a team. Keep up the good work!

As a part of their study of the book, A Thousand Splendid Suns, students in Honors Humanities took part in an Afghan-inspired tea party mixer. They drank chai and enjoyed both fresh and dried fruits with some non-traditional treats like munchkins and muffins! Each student was given a role to play during the mixer and interviewed each other about their positions, during the changing social, economic and political landscape over the last 50 years and Afghanistan.
